Reading To Come
This summer was rather slow, and I know it. It was all those blasted Harry Potters. That and lounging around online instead of reading. Bad me.
The fall semester has started now and I’ve got my books all lined up. I’m planning reviews of:
- Cat’s Cradle (begun, LOVE)
- Oryx & Crake by Atwood
- Fun Home (comic)
- And a bunch of plays. Too many to type out now.
Every year my town has a Festival of the Arts run by our public library. They have an ongoing booksale in the basement, and the special for such events is a bag of books for $3. I raided the romances.
BEWARE for I bought 23 ancient and truly crappy romances. Half of them have craptastic 80s hair. I was rather disappointed to NOT find many bodice rippers, though. Instead I got a bunch of Americana, including a series of stories set in old New York City, which I’m rather looking forward to.
I also bought my own copy of Uris’ Exodus (Yes, Sreya, I liked it that much), One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and my friend bought a children’s book in Japanese that she can practice her translation skills on. All of that for $3. I would’ve paid just that for the Cuckoo’s Nest.
So. Apologies for lack of reviews, yada yada, will try to be more diligent.
