Series: Discworld List

There seems to have been a bit of confusion over which Discworld books I have and haven’t read. Hell, I can’t even keep them straight. So, here’s a list of what I have and have not read. I tried to go back and start the beginning but it didn’t work very well; Rincewind is very, very bland up there.

There are more holes in what I haven’t read than what we own, which is good. I think I’ll try to catch up this fall, since they’re good light reading (literally and figuratively). I love the Luggage and Death. I don’t like Rincewind much. Carrot is amusing, and Vimes is great. Granny Weatherwax is also loverly. I’m technically biased against wizards ever since the Enchanted Chronicles books, but they’re also very funny.

1 : Colour of Magic, the (1983) by Terry Pratchett

Own it (bought in Dublin), read it. Did not like it. It was chopping and, frankly, boring.

2 : Light Fantastic, the (1986) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, read it. Also not a favorite.

3 : Equal Rites (1987) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, read it. Reviewed. Definately sub-par.

4 : Mort (1987) by Terry Pratchett

Own it. I keep thinking I haven’t read this, but when I start it seems familiar. I’ll settle it later.

5 : Sourcery (1988) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, read it. Quite a while ago, but I remember liking it.

6 : Wyrd Sisters (1988) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, unread.

7 : Pyramids (1989) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, read it. Reviewed. Enjoyed.

8 : Guards! Guards! (1989) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, read it. The first Discworld my father and I read after he picked it up at B&N. He loved it, I was a bit confused, but it was very funny.

9 : Eric (1990) by Terry Pratchett

Don’t have it.

10 : Moving Pictures (1990) by Terry Pratchett

Don’t have it.

11 : Reaper Man (1991) by Terry Pratchett

Don’t have it.

12 : Witches Abroad (1991) by Terry Pratchett

Don’t have it.

13 : Small Gods (1992) by Terry Pratchett

14 : Lords and Ladies (1992) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, unread.

15 : Men at Arms (1993) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, unread.

16 : Soul Music (1994) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, unread.

18 : Maskerade (1995) by Terry Pratchett

Don’t have it.

19 : Feet of Clay (1996) by Terry Pratchett

Own it, unread. (This is a very old copy; it’s probably the real first for my father.)

20 : Hogfather (1996) by Terry Pratchett

Don’t have it.

21 : Jingo (1997) by Terry Pratchett

Don’t have it (though we should).

22 : Last Continent, the (1998) by Terry Pratchett

Don’t have it.

23 : Carpe Jugulum (1998) by Terry Pratchett

Don’t have it.

24 : Fifth Elephant, the (1999) by Terry Pratchett
